Leathernecks Nation Motorcycle Club escorts Cpl McDaniels

Members of the Leathernecks Nation motorcycle club honor and escort Marine Cpl Josh McDaniels along a 15 mile funeral procession from Rickenbacker air base to London, Ohio.    Cpl Josh McDaniels, 21,  whos mission in Afghanistan was to detect and detonated IED's (Improvised explosive device) along the roadside left by insurgents.  He died while detonating one of these devices.

Leathernecks escort Cpl Andrews to Welcome Home Party!

Through two rain/hail storms the Leathernecks from Freedom and Joe C. Paul Chapters escort Cpl Kolby Andrews to his welcome home party in Sunbury, Ohio at the American Legion post where friends, family, DMAG(Delaware Military Awareness Group), Army Corps of Engineers as well as others gathered to greet him on his arrival.

 

Cpl. Kolby Andrews returned home on May 25 from Afghanistan where he served with Akron Weapons Co 3/25.

 

 

Leathernecks Nation MC honors Cpl. Tate

As a family prepares to say their final goodbye to their fallen Marine the Leathernecks Nation MC chapters step up to honor Cpl. Tate and his family by providing an escort from airport to the funeral home.  Leathernecks also were in attendance at both the viewing at Newcomer funeral home and the memorial services at the Vineyard Church in Westerville, Ohio.

 

Cpl. Tate was killed in Afghanistan by an IED, or Improvised explosive device.  He served with 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp LeJune, NC

 

 

Freedom Chapter Leathernecks Nation MC helps Christmas

Freedom Chapter receives Christmas toys from Quaker Steak and Lube that were not picked up by the organization in charge of picking them up to distribute to kids.

 

These toys were divided up and given to a family with four kids that would not have had toys for Christmas because their refrigerator went out the week before and Christmas money went to buy a new refrigerator. 

 

The second half of these toys were given to AmeriCorps/Amvets program which was able to give these to a a veteran who would been unable to have toys for Christmas for their kids.

Lethernecks Nation MC helps once homeless Marine Veteran

Members of Freedom Chapter received word that a once homeless Marine vet in Columbus, OH was in serious need of items to furnish his apartment, food, clothing, etc.  Once a successful business owner and with a 20% disability found himself homeless for a period of a couple years.   Combat Vets riders had helped with furnishings for his apartment while Freedom Chapter organized and recruited donations from another chapter to provide more furnishings, food,clothing, bus pass, pay some utilities and rent. 

 

Members of Freedom Chapter were also able to refer him to AMVETS to work with this Marine veteran and place him in a suitable job that would accommodate his disability. While he is not out of the woods yet he has made significant progress to getting his career and life back on track.

 

 

 

Freedom Chapter Leathernecks Nation MC donates $3750

August 18, 2010

 

Freedom Chapter Leathernecks MC donates a total of $3,750 to Ghost Rider Foundation, Marine Corps Family Support Community and Jim Pitzer with proceeds of their second annual Freedom Run Poker Run.

 

Ghost Rider Foundation who helps veterans suffering from PTSD.

 

Marine Corps Family Support Community which helps active duty Marines and their families with care packages , social networking support.

 

Jim Pitzer, currently in critical condition in Intensive care unit at OSU hospital, a Navy veteran and a member of AMVETS, Combat Vets and Patriot Guard riders in critical condition.

 

With these donations Freedom Chapter hopes to make a dent in helping Marines and Veterans in Ohio.
